BESTEST. I think as in Best-Test, not Best-est. I believe the name tells more about what kind of tubes these were than anything I could write in several paragraphs. Obviously they were a 2nd rate tube company. Probably selling factory seconds, rebrands and maybe even wash house tubes.

I did find several ads in Billboard magazines from the mid-1950s by a company called Bestest selling franchises for self-service tube testers. They were located in Detroit, whereas the tube box says New York. No matter, I believe it's the same company.
