SHELDON Electric did actually make some tubes in the early 1940's, maybe earlier and/or later as well. But mostly they just bought where ever they could get them. They did supply some transmitting tubes, but again, they were usually somebody elses. Their RETMA/EIA code was 636.

Note the listing of Allied Electric Products on the box. This is NOT the Allied of Allied Radio and Allied Electronics fame. There may also have been a connection to a organization called SAL-MAR Labs, but I haven't been able to find much information on them.
