Magnavox was a stand alone company for many years. For much of that time they also manufactured industrial and military products. Magnavox was one of the first names to be absorbed as part of the Philips family of consumer electronics. A family that originally included Norelco and eventually Crosley, Sylvania and Philco and were operated by the North American Philips (NAP) division of the Dutch owned Philips company. Tube writing was generally green or blue. Although often the color would match the color used by the original manufacturer. For instance, tubes made by RCA had white or red writing and displayed the 274 RCA RETMA code.
