Siemens is a German company that dates back to the mid 1800's. Two brothers began in the telephone business, one in Germany and one in England. The English company evolved into what is now known as GEC. The German branch retained the Siemens name and today is one of the leading forces in Electronics in the world. Although they historically did a great deal of business with Russia, during the cold war days they were a West German company. In the heyday of tubes, Siemens Röhre (Tubes) were well known first line quality tubes. Siemens still manufactures special purpose and broadcast industry tubes. The tube boxes to the left and right show two different side views of each, the earlier on your left. Note the logo. It is still used on semi-conductors and other Siemens products.
